Choosing a 3-way dimmer
Choose this specifically labelled 3-way model when your project calls for the same light to be controlled from two locations. Gang count describes the wall-plate configuration; it does not describe the number of control locations.
For a 1-way circuit, compare the standard brass rotary dimmer. Have your electrician specify the compatible circuit and companion control, and match the lighting load to the ratings below.
For a stone faceplate with two-location control, compare the natural marble 3-way dimmer.
