Products & Materials
Alabaster is a naturally occurring mineral stone prized for its translucency and warm, organic texture. Unlike glass or acrylic, alabaster absorbs and diffuses light rather than reflecting it — producing a soft, luminous glow that is impossible to replicate with manufactured materials. Each alabaster panel carries its own natural veining, which means no two fixtures are identical. We source our alabaster carefully for consistent quality and warmth of tone.
Yes. All alabaster chandeliers in our collection use genuine natural alabaster stone panels — not resin imitations or synthetic substitutes. The natural stone is carefully selected, cut, and finished by hand before assembly. Because each piece is natural, you may notice slight variations in color and veining between panels, which we consider part of the fixture's character.
Our fixtures are available in Gold, Brass, Bronze, and White finishes depending on the product. Metal frames use an electroplating or powder-coating process that resists oxidation and everyday wear. Under normal indoor conditions, the finish should remain stable for many years. Brass-finished frames in particular develop a rich patina over time — a quality we consider a feature rather than a flaw. Avoid abrasive cleaners and excessive moisture to preserve the finish.
Most of our chandeliers use E12 candelabra base or G9 base LED bulbs, depending on the model. Some fixtures feature integrated LED strips or dimmable LED panels. Specific bulb requirements are listed in each product's specification table. We recommend warm-white LED bulbs (2700K–3000K) to complement the alabaster's natural warmth. Bulbs are not included unless stated otherwise in the product listing.
Compatibility varies by model. Fixtures with E12 or G9 bulb sockets are typically dimmable when paired with a compatible LED bulb and dimmer switch. Fixtures with integrated LED strips (such as the Lumaire Ring series) are NOT compatible with standard dimmer switches — using a dimmer on these models may cause damage. Please check the individual product specification for details, or contact us if you're unsure.
Sizing & Fitting
A simple rule: add the room's length and width in feet, then convert that number to inches. That gives you the ideal chandelier diameter. For example, a 12 × 14 ft dining room works well with a 26" chandelier. For dining tables specifically, the fixture should be about one-half to two-thirds the width of the table. If you'd like a personalized recommendation, email us your room dimensions and we'll advise.
The standard guideline is to hang the bottom of the chandelier 30–36 inches above the tabletop. For rooms with ceilings higher than 8 feet, add approximately 3 inches of height for every additional foot of ceiling height. For foyers and entryways, the bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet above the floor. In two-story foyers, position the bottom of the chandelier slightly below the second-floor landing level for the best visual balance.
Yes. Most of our chandeliers include an adjustable chain or rod system. The maximum adjustable length is listed in each product's specification table. For fixtures with fixed rod segments, you can combine the included rods in different configurations to achieve your desired drop height. If your ceiling height requires a custom length beyond what is included, please contact us before ordering — we can often accommodate custom rod extensions.
Many of our fixtures are compatible with both flat and sloped ceilings. Compatibility is noted in each product's specification table under "Compatible Ceiling Types." If you have a vaulted or angled ceiling, please verify compatibility before purchasing. Sloped ceiling installation typically requires an angled ceiling canopy, which may be available as an accessory — contact us for guidance.
Ordering & Payment
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, and Apple Pay. All transactions are processed securely through our checkout. We do not store your full payment details on our servers.
We process orders quickly. If you need to modify or cancel your order, please contact us at support@carrahome.com as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes, but we cannot guarantee modifications once the order has entered the fulfillment process. Custom orders are generally non-cancellable once confirmed.
Yes. All Carra Home orders come with a 2-year product warranty covering manufacturing defects. If your item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will arrange a replacement or refund. We take product quality seriously and stand behind every fixture we ship.
Shipping & Delivery
We currently ship to the contiguous United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). Standard delivery typically takes 7–15 business days after dispatch. Larger or heavier fixtures may require additional processing time. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order has shipped.
We offer free standard shipping on all orders to the contiguous United States. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations is not currently available through our standard checkout — please contact us directly if you require delivery outside the contiguous US.
All fixtures are carefully packaged with double-walled corrugated boxes, foam inserts, and protective wrapping tailored to the fixture's dimensions. Alabaster panels are individually wrapped to prevent contact during transit. We strongly recommend inspecting the outer packaging before signing for delivery — if the outer box shows significant damage, note it with the carrier at the time of delivery and contact us immediately.
First, check your tracking number (sent by email) for the latest delivery status. If the tracking shows delivery but you haven't received the package, check with neighbors and your building's mailroom. If the package is genuinely lost or significantly delayed beyond the estimated timeframe, contact us at support@carrahome.com and we will investigate with the carrier.
Returns & Refunds
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for items in new, unused condition with original packaging. Shipping costs are not refundable unless the item is defective. Custom orders are non-returnable. To initiate a return, email support@carrahome.com with your order number and reason for return — do not ship items back without first receiving a return authorization from us.
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery at support@carrahome.com with: (1) your order number, (2) photos of the damage to both the product and the packaging, and (3) a brief description of the damage. We will arrange a replacement or full refund as quickly as possible. Do not discard the packaging, as it may be needed for the carrier's insurance claim.
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund within 5 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please note that depending on your bank or card provider, it may take an additional 3–7 business days for the funds to appear in your account.
Installation
While our chandeliers are designed to be installed by a confident DIYer, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed electrician for any ceiling fixture installation, particularly for heavier fixtures or if you are unfamiliar with residential wiring. Electrical work performed by unlicensed individuals may void your home insurance and, in some jurisdictions, local building codes. Always ensure the circuit is fully disconnected from power before beginning any installation.
Most installations require a ladder, screwdrivers (flathead and Phillips), wire strippers, voltage tester, and a ceiling hook or junction box rated for the fixture's weight. Each chandelier ships with a detailed installation manual and the necessary hardware (screws, canopy, wire nuts). If you require additional hardware or have questions about your ceiling junction box capacity, contact our support team before installation.
Yes — for larger or heavier chandeliers (particularly alabaster fixtures above 30 lbs), we strongly recommend two people for installation: one to hold and support the fixture and one to make the electrical connections and secure the canopy. Attempting to install a heavy chandelier alone is unsafe and risks both injury and damage to the fixture.
Customization
Yes. We offer customization options including custom sizes, alternative finishes, voltage adjustments (110V to 220V), and custom drop lengths. Customization is handled on a case-by-case basis — please contact us at support@carrahome.com with your requirements and we will advise on feasibility and lead times. Custom orders typically require a longer production window and are non-cancellable once confirmed.
